The Sturgeon River, a Blue Ribbon trout stream, is the fastest flowing river in Michigan's lower Peninsula. It's perfect for kayaking, canoeing, rafting and fishing adventures.We would be happy to assist you in arranging river trips or fishing guides.
Enjoy the pond and beautiful gardens (where much of our food is grown) while hiking, walking, snow shoeing or cross country skiing the trails surrounding the lodge. Relax around the bonfire or enjoy the dock, deck or hammock at the river's edge. Soak away your worries or gaze at the stars in our 3 person outdoor hot tub.
We're conveniently located close to Gaylord, Indian River, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, Boyne City and Vanderbilt, making it a great location for day trips throughout the Tip of the Mitt.

Our Bed and Breakfast, The Silent Sport Lodge, currently offers four bedrooms all with private baths and several common areas. The River Room has a private balcony with a fishing theme decor. The Cedar Room has a two-person whirl pool tub with an atmosphere ideal for a romantic get a way. The Mountain Room is decorated with a northern woods theme, has a large shower and king size bed. The Meadow Room has soft blue walls with a songbird motif, an electirc fireplace and the bathroom has a tub and shower.
We include a full breakfast of local and many organic foods each day with your bed & breakfast stay.
We offer custom packages such as snowshoe making weekends, women's retreats, intro to fly fishing, or others that may include bicycling, canoeing, kayaking, guided winter raft trips or even paddle board rentals. Call for rates and details.
